School to me is a place where I can socialize, as well as a sanctuary where my worries are (mostly) trivialized. To not be able to visit this place at all was truly painful.

Every time I deploy my Kevlar it changes me, gnawing away at my humanity. I’ve become hardened somewhat, with very little tolerance for those who choose to discriminate against my son.
The state needs to work on developing legislative and other supports that are more Autism friendly in our schools and to help with transitioning young adults with Autism into work opportunities.

Transformation is not an overnight process. It can be long and slow but part of transformation requires us to dust off the recommendations made in the past and actually attempt to implement solutions.
